Last night, Fiona Apple played what appears to be her first proper solo show in more than three years at LA's Fonda Theatre. It was part of a benefit to raise money for the legal fees faced by the protesters who fought to reroute the Dakota Access pipeline at Standing Rock in North Dakota, and TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone organized it. Apple shared the stage with TVOTR, Sky Ferreira, Devendra Banhart, Moses Sumney, Kimya Dawson, and others. And during her set, Apple sang a couple of songs that she hasn't sung live before. Apple covered "Money Changes Everything," a 1978 new wave song from the Los Angeles band the Brains that became a minor hit for Cyndi Lauper in 1984. And she sang a spirited rendition of her anti-Trump parody of "The Christmas Song." Below, watch fan-made footage of her performing both of those songs, as well as her eternal classic "Sleep To Dream."
