Seattle trio Dude York are gearing up to release their sophomore album, Sincerely, next month. Back in November, they shared lead single “Black Jack,” which saw co-vocalist Peter Richards preaching self-care anthemics over crunchy riffs. The second single, “Tonight,” has bassist Claire England taking over on vocal duties for a resignedly liberating take on the break-up song. “Clearly we’re too different/ I guess that means it’s the end,” she sings. “They way you talk to me makes me feel like just a friend/ I might be wrong but at least I’m sure that you’re not right/ Let’s wrap this up, there’s somewhere else I’ve got to be tonight.” That last word is repeated in a propulsive bit of glory that encourages you to get up and get moving.
