The great Providence punk band Downtown Boys signed with Sub Pop earlier this year, and while there hasn't yet been any news about a follow-up to the furious 2015 album Full Communism, they have just shared an absolutely badass new song. "Somos Chulas (No Somos Pendejas)" is sung entirely in Spanish -- its title translates to "We're Elegant/Intelligent (We're Not Dumb)" -- and it's got all the feverish out-of-control urgency of the best punk rock. At this point, it seems lazy to compare Downtown Boys to X-Ray Spex, since everyone does it. But there are very few other bands who, in the intervening 40 years, have been able to conjure that sense of righteous purpose. Listen to the new song below.
