The great veteran singer-songwriter Aimee Mann will release her perfectly lovely new album Mental Illness on Friday, and last night, she sang a gorgeous version of "Goose Snow Cone," its opening single, on Stephen Colbert's Late Show. Colbert's house band John Batiste And Stay Human backed her up, as did a full string section and Jonathan Coulton, the joke-rock performer who played on the new album. But even with all those people onstage, the song was a quiet and intimate thing. Check out the performance below.
