Last month, Charlotte Gainsbourg released her excellent new album Rest, her first since 2011’s Stage Whisper. The rollout was already accompanied by some striking visuals — including the beautiful video for the album’s highlight, “Deadly Valentine” — and today Gainsbourg has shared another, a clip for the album’s emotive closer “Les Oxalis.”
Directed by Gainsbourg, much of the video is in black and white and reflects on the past, focusing on still shots in a graveyard. Then, as the song rides out into the sunset, the video bursts into stark color as Gainsbourg walks up a sand dune and then tumbles back down. Check it out below.
