Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell track "Death With Dignity" served as one of the main inspirations for the upcoming video game The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit and it is heavily featured within the game itself. The game opens with the song and, according to a new interview with co-director Raoul Barbet, lyrics from the song will appear at various points depending on your choices within the game. Barbet says that the journey that the game's main character takes parallels the message of the song. "Death With Dignity" also plays in the Captain Spirit trailer that debuted at E3 over the weekend.

The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit is a prequel to Life Is Strange 2. It's not the developer's first foray into indie music: Speedy Ortiz's "No Below" was a memorable part of last year's Life Is Strange: Before The Storm game. The band's Sadie Dupuis talked about its inclusion in our recent Speedy feature.
