On his new album, Kamikaze, Eminem takes aim at everyone from Tyler The Creator to ... Kala Brown? Brown is known for being the only surviving victim of serial killer Todd Kohlhepp. Eminem makes a passing reference to her in "The Ringer," rapping, "I'm off the chain like Kala Brown." Brown was found chained up in a metal shipping container on Kohlhepp's 96-acre property in Woodruff, South Carolina.

Brown's spokeswoman Jenny Dial told the Greenville News that Brown did not take offense to the line, calling it "a clever line that rhymed and we'd like to leave it at that." Dial went on, "Given we fully know and understand Eminem's style of rap music, it can come off a little unnerving, but she does not want to take offense or feel as if he is attacking her personally."

She also said the line might serve as a reminder of what took place when Brown was held captive: "Everyone expresses themselves in their own way, and if anything, people will always feel a flash of Kala's struggle when hearing that line."
