Adult contemporary singer Michael Bolton has really leaned into the self-aware comedy lane in recent years -- collabing with the Lonely Island, making a ridiculous Valentine's Day comedy special, filling in for the Michael Bolton character in an Office Space edit. And now, he's starring in a Late Show With Stephen Colbert sketch in which he sings excerpts from former White House national security adviser John Bolton's new tell-all memoir.
"John Bolton has just published his book The Room Where It Happened," a voiceover intones at the beginning of the fake commercial. "And Audible has the exclusive audiobook, also featuring Bolton ... Michael Bolton. That's right, Bolton sings Bolton." So yes, you get to hear Michael Bolton sings lines like "Trump begged President Xi to buy soybeans to help him win re-election" and "Pompeo sent me a note about Trump that said 'He's so full of shit.'"
