The Ophelias’ For Luck EP Has New Songs, A Quarantine Remake, And A Joni Mitchell Cover

Cincinnati quartet the Ophelias are back today with the follow-up to their Yoni Wolf-produced 2018 debut album Almost. It’s a four-song EP called For Luck that continues to add wrinkles to the band’s artful, string-laden indie-pop sound.

The tracklist contains two completely new songs, the grungy dream-pop opener “Grand Canyon” and a wistful float called “Bad Enough,” as well as a “quarantine version” of Almost single “Lunar Rover” that steers the track all the way into ballad territory. Speaking of ballads, For Luck ends with the Ophelias’ take on Joni Mitchell’s timeless “Both Sides, Now.” So, a nice little package of music to introduce you to this band.

The Ophelias will celebrate For Luck’s release on Instagram Live tonight at 8PM ET. In the meantime, stream the EP below.
