slowthai – “nhs”

Last year, slowthai became an instant sensation with the release of his debut album Nothing Great About Britain. He spent 2020 largely releasing a string of one-offs that included “ENEMY,” “MAGIC,” and “BB (Bodybag),” none of which will appear on his just-announced sophomore album TYRON, which is due out next year. What will show up on it is his most recent single “Feel Away,” which featured James Blake and Mount Kimbie, plus new songs with guest features from A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Denzel Curry, Dominic Fike, and Deb Never.

Today, slowthai is featuring a new song called “nhs,” named after his country’s National Health Service, but outside of a shoutout to the NHS in the middle of the song, it’s mostly a plea for empathy and understanding. Keeping with the mood of “Feel Away,” it’s more introspective and understated than what was on his debut. Check it out below.
