Japanese Breakfast – “My Baby (Got Nothing At All)”

Earlier this year Michelle Zauner released her latest Japanese Breakfast album For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). In our File of the indie rocker, she mentioned, "I don’t think I can talk about it, but I actually did just write the end credits for a new movie that will be coming out this year, that I’m really excited about." It's very likely she was talking about what's being announced today: A Japanese Breakfast song for the upcoming A24 romantic comedy film Materialists.

Directed by Celine Song, Materialists stars Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal. The full score is by Daniel Pemberton, but Japanese Breakfast did the track "My Baby (Got Nothing At All)," which out now. Here's the synopsis for the movie: "A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex." You probably saw this teaser clip circulating on social media recently, but that's all I'll say about that.

Hear "My Baby (Got Nothing At All)," and watch Zauner's new Google commercial, below.
