Melody’s Echo Chamber – “The House That Doesn’t Exist”

Diane Sagnier

We aren't getting too many new albums between now and the actual end of the year, but one of the few that drops this week is Unclouded, the latest from Melody Prochet, the French psych-pop artist who records as Melody's Echo Chamber. I have heard the full record, and it's just as pretty and spacey as you would expect from early singles "Daisy" and "In The Stars." Today, we get more evidence in the form of a new song called "The House That Doesn't Exist."

"The House That Doesn't Exist" is exactly the kind of groovy, glamorous, pillowy music that Melody's Echo Chamber makes so well. It's got funky-ass drums and dizzy cinematic strings, and Melody Prochet sounds like she lives in an old European art film. In a press release, she says that the song "turns the impossible perspective of a joyful human life in today’s world into reality, evoking a new sense of faith." Check out the Diane Sagnier-directed video below.

Unclouded is out 12/5 on Domino.
