I never know that Powerplant was just one guy. The wiggy London post-punk project has been putting out records since 2018, and it's got a live lineup that includes a bunch of people from the DIY punk universe. On record, however., the entire thing is the project of the Ukrainian-born musician Theo Zhykharyev. This man has already made three Powerplant albums, as well as a bunch of other sundry records, and now another one is on the way.
The new Powerplant album Bridge Of Sacrifice drops in a couple of months, and its title track is a crazy-fast gargle-splat synth-punk attack. It sounds like an egg-punk version of black metal, or like Mike Patton working on a basement budget. If you fuck with MSPAINT, there is a good chance you will fuck with this. I think Zhykharyev looks extremely cool in the video, which you can watch below.
