If you know anything about the absolutely merciless Richmond band Killing Pace, then you already know what the letters HCPM mean. Those letters stand for "hardcore, punk, and metal," and Killing Pace's sound encompasses the most extreme versions of all three. Killing Pace's 2022 demo is a damaged, feverish blitzkrieg fusion of death metal, grindcore, powerviolence, crust, and any of the other spiky, nasty subgenres you might care to name. The band's long-awaited full-length debut HCPM is shaping up to be an even more intense version of that sound.
HCPM comes out in just week, and it features contributions from members of likeminded bands like Scarab, Division Of Mind, Brain Tourniquet, and the Final Agony. Lead single "War Machine" is billed as a collaboration with death metal annihilation artists Antichrist Siege Machine, and it's a guttural sprint with an ugly breakdown that's over in less than two minutes. If you like sick shit like Nails and Ingrown, you will like this. Check out "War Machine" and the HCPM tracklist below.
