The xx Announce First Show In Eight Years

The xx have been working on the follow-up to 2017's I See You since 2023, while still pursuing their various solo ventures. But other than some impromptu onstage reunions during Jamie xx solo gigs, they haven't played a proper show together since the summer of 2018. We knew that was about to change — the band is on the lineup for 2026 mega-fests like Coachella, Kilby Block Party, and Primavera Sound — and now we know exactly when they'll make their grand return.

In a post on Instagram today, Jamie Smith, Romy Madley Croft, and Oliver Sim revealed their first show back will be April 4, when they'll turn Mexico City into Mexxico City with a gig at the Pepsi Center WTC. Here's what they have to say about it:

It’s been a while since our last show together as The xx.

In 2026, we share our music with you all live again.

This is the start of a next chapter together, and there’s no better place to return than in front of our Mexican fans. We’ve always felt a deep connection to Mexico - the warmth, the openness, the energy from the crowd.

Thank you for waiting for us and we can’t wait to see you soon!

Seems like a great way to warm up for Coachella. That ticket link they mentioned is right here.
