Almost exactly one year ago, SASAMI released her album Blood On The Silver Screen. Today, she's announcing a new deluxe edition called Blood On The Silver Screen: Director's Cut. It'll include the version of "Just Be Friends" with Soccer Mommy, and it'll also have some remixes from friends and collaborators, including Patti Harrison, the comedian and actress from Shrill and I Think You Should Leave.
SASAMI and Patti Harrison have been buds for a long time. In 2020, they did a long chat for Stereogum contributor Joel Goldfine's PAPER series. In 2021, Harrison co-directed SASAMI's video for her cover of Daniel Johnston's "Sorry Entertainer." Harrison isn't really a musician by trade. With her thumping remix of SASAMI's track "I'll Be Gone," she finally follows up her iconic 2021 Ziwe collabs "Black Friends" and "Stop Being Poor."
Along with Patti Harrison's "I'll Be Gone" remix, SASAMI has also shared Australian singer-songwriter Angie McMahon's version of her song "Honeycrash." Below, check out both of those tracks, as well as the Blood On The Silver Screen: Director's Cut tracklist.
