2025 was the year of Chuquimamani-Condori, and not just because they teamed with their brother Joshua Chuquimia Crampton for a phenomenal debut album as Los Thuthanaka. The artist also known as DJ E also showed out on Edits, which applied some of that reality-altering magic to a bunch of existing hits.
There were some pop-country classics on Edits, like Faith Hill's "Breathe," so perhaps it's no surprise that DJ E has delivered a fresh reworking of "4x4xU," Lainey Wilson's 2024 single about how much she loves riding around in a truck with her man. What is a bit surprising is that rather than refract Wilson's track into maximalist bombast, they've set the vocal track to an elegant string arrangement.
Furthermore, rather than post it to Bandcamp, they've put the edit on Mediafire as a free download like it's the glory days of MP3 blogs. The most 2026 thing about it is that they shared it via Instagram story. Snag "4x4 strings DJ E edit" here. And while you're at it, check out Chuquimamani-Condori's recent Luzmila edits too.
