Somehow the Smashing Pumpkins have never played Coachella (maybe it's the CIA's fault). But Sombr, who recently linked up onstage with members of fellow '90s alt-rock legends the Cranberries, took a moment out of his own Coachella debut on Saturday to bring out Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. Together they sang the Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness hit "1979," which is having a big moment on TikTok right now. It took a while for Corgan's mic to start working but they figured it out eventually!
"Rock and roll under the desert sky—my first time at @coachella," Corgan wrote on Instagram after. "Thank you @sombr."
At the fest, Sombr also debuted a brand-new single called "Potential," which arrives April 17. Maybe Corgan can teach him how to remove eye makeup before next weekend:
@sombr I’m a pro at make up also potential out apr 17th
