You might know actress and comedian Meg Stalter for her roles in Hacks and Lena Dunham's Too Much. She's decided to try being a pop star, and her debut single "Prettiest Girl In America" is out today.
You're not going to believe this, but Stalter took inspiration from early 2000s pop for her forthcoming debut album Crave. Stalter wrote all the songs with Jesse Thomas and produced them with Thomas and Matias Mora. Crave is out later this summer, but for now we've got "Prettiest Girl In America."
Stalter has been laying the groundwork for this one for a while; when she went on Colbert to promote Too Much last year, she wore a T-shirt-turned-corset that said "Meg Stalter is the prettiest girl in America." The track is an electroclash throwback with lyrics about how hard it is to be rich, famous, and beautiful. Check it out below.
