Trump’s Freedom 250 Concerts Book Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, & C+C Music Factory

This summer the proud nation known as the United States Of America will officially celebrate its 250th birthday. Donald Trump is doing his very best to turn this into a celebration of his own magnificence, and the proceedings will include a UFC event on the White House lawn and a grand prix race in Washington, DC, a city not exactly built for automotive speed. The Freedom 250 people have also put together the Great American State Fair, a series of concerts on the National Mall that will attempt to make America 1990 again.

Freedom 250 just announced the lineup of performers that'll play the Great American State Fair this summer. It's a dream bill of cheesy pop hitmakers from the era of the first Gulf War, including known Trump ally Vanilla Ice, as well as Milli Vanilli, C+C Music Factory, Young MC, and Poison frontman Bret Michaels. Given that Milli Vanilli and C+C Music Factory are both duos with one surviving member apiece, it's hard to imagine what these performances will even be. Milli Vanilli weren't even American! I guest their ghost-singers were, though.

Nostalgia-circuit young gun Flo Rida, country pillar Martina McBride, and funk veterans the Commodores and Morris Day And The Time will also play the Freedom 250 concerts. The announcement promises "many more." Imagine being one of the "many more." The shows go down June 25 to July 10. You're apparently supposed to RSVP, but I can't figure out how to do that. To be perfectly honest, I didn't try that hard.

UPDATE: Morris Day And The Time and Young MC have both dropped off the lineup. "Contrary to rumor, Morris Day & The Time will not be performing at the 'Great American State Fair,'" Day posted on Instagram, adding "It's A No For Me."

"I HAVE INFORMED MY AGENTS THAT I WILL NOT BE PERFORMING AT THE FREEDOM 250 EVENT," Young MC wrote. "The artists were never told about any political involvement with the event."
