Two of this year's best straight-up rock albums are Masquerade, the stormy debut from Irish Band To Watch Cardinals, and For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter, the excellently slithery new one from Danish vampires Iceage. During a recent live-in-studio session for SiriusXM, Cardinals paid tribute to their post-punk buzz-band elders by covering Iceage.
In their Sirius session, Cardinals took on "Morals," a skronky track from Iceage's 2013 sophomore effort You're Nothing. The members of Cardinals are crazy young, and it's fun to think about them discovering Iceage online as little kids. It's also fun to hear the song coming through in their grand-sigh style.
