In January, Courtney Marie Andrews returned with Valentine, her first album in more than three years. This week, she's got another new tune for us.
"Carolina Caroline," which popped up on Andrews' Bandcamp page Monday, is a cover of a Jonathan Edwards song from 1977. It appears in Carolina Caroline, the recent Southern Gothic romantic crime thriller directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, starring Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner. The movie was widely released last month after premiering last year at Toronto International Film Festival.
"The song is originally written by Jonathan Edwards, and the director and editor asked me to sing a version for the rolling credits," Andrews writes on Bandcamp. "You can only hear it here on Bandcamp or in the film." Hear it below.
