Yo La Tengo Announce James Talarico Benefit Show

9:26 AM EDT on October 9, 2026

Yo La Tengo will perform a benefit show in support of Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico Oct. 27 at The Long Time in Austin, Texas. The event will raise funds for Talarico’s Senate campaign, with each ticket requiring a $100 donation to the campaign. Attendance will be capped at 500 people.

This isn’t the first time Yo La Tengo have lent their music to a political cause. The band has previously performed benefit shows in support of the presidential campaigns of John Kerry back in 2004 and then offered private gig performances to raise money for Kamala Harris/Tim Walz 2024 campaign.

Texas legend Willie Nelson is also endorsing the candidate. “I’ve gotten to know James Talarico," Nelson said in a video also posted yesterday. "He’s a good man who will be a good senator for the state of Texas. Please vote, and vote for James Talarico.”

These announcements follows support from fellow musicians like the Chicks and Don Henley.
