Friday (Oct. 16) marked two years since the tragic death of former One Direction member Liam Payne. Harry Styles — who released his new album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally earlier this year — debuted a new tribute song for his late ex-bandmate live at Madison Square Garden.

Styles is currently doing a 30-night residency at the historic NYC venue. "I feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, and this building means a lot to me," he said onstage. "And two years ago today, I lost one of those friends."

"I'm sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven't. But really, it's just about looking after each other," he continued. "So many people who have touched my life in such special ways, I wouldn't be here without. I'm gonna play you a song I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that’s all right." He introduced the song as "What Is Enough."

Styles was also recently spotted filming with John Wilson on the NYC Ferry near Long Island City. Now Variety confirms the How To with John Wilson and The History Of Concrete documentarian has been filming with the popstar since the Together, Together residency kicked off at MSG in August. Their planned tour doc is described as a "hybrid of live performances and a glimpse into Styles’ world" and may receive a theatrical release.
