Rock in Vegas, sounds grand. Vegoose is one of the few US fests we have yet to take a gamble on, and the promise of celebrating sick sets by losing our shirts at craps is proving a temptation too difficult to ignore. The fest runs by day at the Sam Boyd Stadium (set on a 30-acre, mountain-set grass field), followed by "Vegoose At Night," taking groups like the Shins and setting 'em in high-profile Vegas venues like the House Of Blues, the Joint, etc. (Sorry, Night tix sold separately.) And they've jumped on the classic-album bandwagon, getting Iggy & The Stooges to offer up a track-by-track retelling of Fun House. To the lineup:
Rage Against The Machine
Daft Punk
Iggy & The Stooges
Muse
The Shins
Cypress Hill
Queens Of The Stone Age
Public Enemy
Michael Franti & Spearhead
Umphrey's McGee
Thievery Corporation
STS9
Ghostface Killa & The Rhythm Roots Allstars
Blonde Redhead
Gogol Bordello
U.N.K.L.E.
Ghostland Observatory
Pharoahe Monch
Battles
They're promsiing more artists announcements soon. VIP and Two-Day General Admission tix go on sale 7/28, Single-Day tix are up on 8/18 (assuming availability) at Vegoose.com.
Who's been double down there? We're Vegoose virgins, so 411 would be appreciated.
