New Speck Mountain – “Blood Is Clean”

The warm milk and valium cookies sound on BTW Speck Mountain's full-length debut Summer Above has hazily seeped its way into the ears of London label Peacefrog, earning itself a spot on a roster that's the UK home to other Stereobeloveds Marissa Nadler and José González. The first 7" single there wasn't even on the debut here, though we did hear it during their set at CMJ; "Blood Is Clean" is still steeped in languid '60s psychedelia, all vibey reverb and fits of horns, shakers, and Marie-Claire Balabanian's plague-invoking lyrics.
