Merrill Garbus thinks of herself in "magenta-y" terms, which is no surprise if you've seen what she did with "Bizness" or the w h o k i l l cover or anything else about tUnE-yArDs ever. That said: this is the least colorful thing tUnE-yArDs has produced in awhile. Here, w h o k i l l's hood-cautionary loop-funk cut "Gangsta" gets a video with the Garbus palette scaled back to a stark black/white/grey. This is a smart move because, if we're being real, magenta is probably the least gangster color in the box. (Sorry, magenta.) Observe:
