When we posted the trippy, Flexible video for Merriweather Post Pavillion‘s second single “Summertime Clothes,” we made more than a passing mention of the track’s 4-song EP (12″ and digital), posting one of its three remixes, a smooth, skittering take via LA’s Dâm-Funk. The full single came out today, so its time to take a listen to its other two remixes by forward-thinking UK dubstep producers L.D. and Zomby. They both find distinctive, appropriately adventurous entrance ways into the track. Moving away from the usual suspects and finding sympathetic ears elsewhere worked.
In case you didn’t get it last time, here’s Dâm-Funk:
The “Summertime Clothes” 12″ is out today (7/7) via Domino.

Another Animal Collective remix, I swear I’ve seen this more than ten times before. Been a slow news week.
Yeah… except for that whole Michael Jackson thing.
can anybody actually read this site with that huge ad?
JESUS CHRIST STOP IT YOU FOOLS, OR DISABLE COMMENTS BECAUSE EVERYONE IS GONNA COMPLAIN ABOUT IT FOREVER!
The Dam Funk remix is the only good version on the single, the other two are too experimental and drain the original’s fun with typical remix tropes.
I don’t know, man, Elvis and your shark are getting down pretty hard to the L.D. mix…. On the real though, I dig L.D.’s a lot, although the vocals get kinda buried. The feel is real nice though.
Stereogum < whoring the shit out of Florence and the Hendersons background style.
Remember the good ol’ days when Animal Collective would release a new song on the single instead of shitty remixes?
Dear KJK, who gives a fuck? Do you hear that Dam Funk mix?
