oh and I forgot an apostrophe there, ha…
Yeah I forgot to mention it’s is so whitey white, youre right, which doesn’t seem very British in their post-colonial nature… hmmm.
Hey Brandon, Amrit, Sterogum fans, I read this and it made me think, and I headed down some strange memory lane back two decades, with the naughts and the aughts together, GBV handing the torch to the Strokes somewhere messily along the trajectories of both their careers… Here’s a blog about it if you care to read – http://www.thefanzine.com/blog/item/579. Someone said it sounded bitter btw, which… well just read on, cause I hope it makes up for the blog’s initial snarkiness in the end, an apologia for a band that at once seemed over-hyped, and by god um…threatening, which I later came to love. -Casey
Dude we are naming our first boy Vetis….best name I have seen in a while. And I like the non pat answers, though you certainly are not afraid to piss off your home town. I am downloading this album as soon as I pay my bills…
Brandon you’re the man. I wished I’d been able to make that show and yeah the projectors stuff shortly after was pretty amazing, glad to see it’s coming to even more fruition. Keep up the (I don’t know how you have to time to do all this) excellent work. There’s a nip in the air finally, go Bills.
He got caught trying to vandalize and steal handles…no, someone already got the obvious headline – “Like a Complete Unknown”
That was a classy, pitch perfect preamble. Kudos. Brandon?
Cool that Bee Thousand was up there, but the Vampire On Titus/Propeller cd that was floating around prior to that was more of a gem to me than the one that broke them. And I also like Alien Lanes better as an album. All in all, would have put Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted at the top. That tape was literally stuck in my car’s tape deck for a year when it first came out. And Sebadoh has to be numero 3, at least for “calling the bottom” (ha that’s a popular phrase these days) on Indie rock when they began poking fun of the concept with songs like “Gimmie Indie Rock.” Anyway, my two cents after a quick scan.
Ah now you are making me jealous, stop it! Shoulda made the last minute trip
Oh man I am jealous B, wondered if you were going, was thinking of going last minute but alas, nope…been reading Paddy’s Johnson’s Art Fag City’s tweets about the interactive side of things, saw a couple of good bands come through Atlanta on their way, The Love Laughter and Let’s Wrestle. Anyway, have fun.
wow, very nice
this is brilliant, kudos to scrapple.tv who I’m sure is now making bank from the hits
hey B you’re not at SXSW? Or are you omnipresent now?
Yeah, now that it’s the second half of the North American Blur/Oasis duel, what exactly could I write to score a touchdown instead of a field goal in comment points. I expect -60 for this one.
RIght, now how can I get a touchdown rather than a field goal in comment points?
to repeat what I just posted on facebook: ‘Ha, I like their music, Arcade Fire, and wouldn’t know if they are polite or pompous or not, but this is funny, the title especially of the post, Wayne Coyne tearing them a new asshole. I know they played during the Obama inauguration ceremonies under a banner saying “restoring America to…” something or other. Funny to have the Canadians working hard to restore us. Thanks guys!’

What’s new about this? I love Ariel’s music and artwork (curated some of his work when he was just Ariel Rosenberg), but his performances have always been kind of a mess, as if he were on 12 tabs of LSD and oblivious that there was an audience. At least that’s the way it was the few times I’ve seen him. Making a great track is not the same as making a great rock show. Still love what he does, sounds funny…
