The music industry may not be producing any Bob Dylans, but it has produced a pretty cool modern update of CSNY in the Gentleman Brawlers! Check them out if you haven’t, of course they don’t sound just like CSN, they’ve got their own thing, but the harmonies are excellent and send a shiver up your spine in a similar way.
A great tune by a great band — I saw these guys in Brooklyn and they are AMAAAAAZING live. And if that’s not reason enough to check them out, according to the NY Times Science Section last week all the Facebook/twitter time you’re spending is melting your brain faster than a red-state meth habit… so get out of the house and see this band, you won’t be disappointed!!
Nice!!! I’m hearing Sloan, Spiritualized, and Psychocandy — and the echo-chamber vocals are a lot like that Brooklyn band Real Estate (you have GOT to check those guys out, evabody.)
Solid, professional… like my plumber. Antlers: getting the job done, or at least getting out the door with your money.
The sound is cool… the slapback thing reminds me of the Gentleman Brawlers or that band Real Estate, with the whole verb-ed out sound. Why did they have to get this lame singer though, she sounds about as deep as a kiddie pool.
I saw these guys at Santos Party House — amazing show! And one of the opening bands knocked my socks off too, wow… this tune “Later Than You Think” is my favorite track of 2012 so far:
