I didn’t really like OK Cupid beyond its novelty value when it came out but I really like where Kitty is going and I’m really excited about her album dropping. This and Second Life are insanely good songs
i subscribed before i even watched the video.
“Texan rap absurdist Riff Raff is supposedly for-real coming out with his proper debut album Neon Icon is supposedly coming really soon” – u ok tom? maybe get rid of one of those supposedly comings?
Stereogum: Calls Like A Rolling Stone ‘generation-defining’
Stereogum: Does not put it on this list.
He spends the whole video laughing about the fact he’s ‘never told anyone’ about it and ‘can’t believe he’s doing it’ when he’s obviously provided the info to the interviewer as a topic and has the song on his phone ready to show them.
Dude, what part of ‘my mum’ makes you think i want to talk about the extent to which those people think they’re sexy?
Ok, I lol’ed at 402 – Mystery Jets, ‘Twenty One’
“Nobody believes… Pulp’s Different Class is the 6th best.” Maybe it’s a British thing, but Different Class is pretty much worshiped as a flawless masterpiece by a lot of people I know (including my best friend, my mum, my old music teacher, and my old boss)
But on the other hand, as he currently presents himself, he’s doing a world of good for people who feel unable to place themselves within a strict label system. I know I have friends who have been attracted to both genders but don’t feel that calling themselves bi or gay is accurate. It’s doing a whole other group of people a world of good having somebody in the public spotlight is willing to say;
1. ‘I am attracted to both genders, but one more than the other and neither particularly often’
2. ‘My sexuality is complicated and i don’t owe anyone a full explanation of it’.
I personally think that is far more helpful for sexually confused people than having him give some rambling, contradictory, convoluted explanation of himself.
It’ll be really awkward if nobody bids, christ…
I’d personally go with
1. Hounds of Love, 2. The Dreaming, 3. The Sensual World, 4. Aerial, 5. The Kick Inside, 6. Never For Ever, 7. 50 Words For Snow, 8. Lionheart, 9. Red Shoes
I love the Slits sample in this
On another note my best friend hates this album and refers to it as ‘Menstrual Rage: The Musical!’ so there’s that.
People don’t talk enough about how fucking AMAZING this album is in every aspect. I find it really difficult to put into words how good Guyville is, and how much it means to me personally.
‘Shatter’ is one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time.
The fact that there are 6 X’s on the front and 6 numbers on the record is probably no coincidence
It’s only going to be solvable once we have a sequence of 36 numbers
Hopefully it’ll be leading to a new BoC album though; if the countdown thing mentioned on Consequence of Sound is right then we’ve only got 259 days to wait!
I think you may have misunderstood the whole ‘tragedy+time=comedy’ formula here dude.
If that’s true are we allowed to start making ‘City With No Children’ jokes?
I’d put The Woods over Dig Me Out, but otherwise I completely agree with this list (for like the first time ever)
Anyone who thinks the Knife isn’t worth coming out of retirement for is wrong.
Still loading in the UK
By its very nature a song like this should NOT make me happy.
But it’s just been so long since I was freaked out by a new Knife song, I just can’t help myself.
I’m too much of a fangirl to be able to give a well reasoned judgement on the album right now. I may be back when I’ve calmed myself down.
just to clarify, I do love Beck. I just dislike this list with every fiber of my being.
