Man, I haven’t listened to Cherub Rock in a long time. Everything you said about it is correct and now I’m blasting Siamese Dream on this beautiful fall day.
I agree with seeing a hip-hop Top 40, sure, but I don’t get why metal wouldn’t have it’s own list. It’s a very specific genre (much like hip-hop).
Glad to see someone put Winterfylleth on their list, loved that album.
Sure it can be seen as uncool, but was the promise to their fans a part of the contract? I am behind the band’s ideological stance, but they are reacting in a very immature way. Maybe they should not promise to undertake such an arduous task such as releasing two albums in one year.
How do you know that they were racist or white?
And if wants to get all ethical he’d be happy to know all but two teams in the German League are majority owned by the fans (much like the Packers (the exact same as the Packers)). I don’t know what this actually does for the team, but it sounds just as good as putting a charity on the jerseys.
But he didn’t say Radiohead fans, he said Radiohead, so I’d also like to know what specifically Radiohead has done or said to warrant this attack. It’s like everyone giving shit to the L.A. Kings because their fans are all jumping on the bandwagon now that they’ve won the Cup. The Kings players didn’t do anything to warrant that hate and as far as I can tell, neither has Radiohead. It’s just that some people (Corgan) can’t handle other people being more popular than they are.
