Cosign. Absolutely love All Hour Cymbals, but I can’t wrap my head around Odd Blood being considered better than Tame Impala, Ariel Pink’s, Janelle Monae, etc.
Happy to see Wild Nothing in the top 10!
Genuinely surprised Caribou didn’t make this list, especially when I look at 30-50. Wowwie. Also. No Best Coast? I realize many bloggers are worn out on the Bethany buzz, but for f sake, give credit where credit’s due.
Not as surprised that Tobacco, Gayngs, and Julian Lynch didn’t make it, but I do feel their LPs have gone overlooked by most end-of-year lists. All are brilliant.
Janelle Monae, Fly Lo, and Big Boi should all be ranked higher IMO.
That being said, end-of-year lists aren’t much more than a little traffic-driving fun made better by entertainingly stabby reader scrutiny. Let’s not forget that 2010 was a stellar year for music lovers, and we all have our favorites. Bethany still exists, I just checked her Twitter.
Is it time for the Earl Sweatshirt LP yet?
