Well Childish Gambino is from just up the road in Stone Mountain. So maybe that helps explain it. I wanted to go to the show so bad. Someone please post videos!!
What kills me is that the demographic that makes SNL alums successes like Portlandia and Jimmy Fallon’s late night shows, should be well familiar and probably love St. Vincent. Obviously, there is a disconnect somewhere. When she played “She is Beyond Good and Evil” on Late Night, my face melted. I thought the Samberg/ St. Vincent show was a match made in hipster heaven. I guess the proverbial bass dropped.
Love it, love it, love it! Sound advice from Annie Clark. Stay in your lane, people.
Isn’t that the Waitress with “J-Orgus”?
Waittt… Is Thom Yorke our David Byrne?
Da Art of Storytellin’ Part 1,2, and 4!!! Player’s Ball? I normally take me music cues from this site because, it hasn’t steered me wrong since 2007. I especially like that the trust I have in listening to new music is based in my confidence that the staffs’ taste matches my own. As a southern man who started listening in1994, poor job, Stereogum. Poor job
Is it just safe to say that 2002 was a watershed year in the pantheon of music?
Jay- Z and Andre’ 3000 were on the same track on the remix of “30 Something” with Ice Cube. It was off the mediocre Kingdom Come album
