what’s it gonna be like now when somebody cries “win butler stole my basketball”?
Riding To Work In The Year 2025 (You’re Invisible Now) – Flaming Lips
Oh Man… I don’t know if it was the whole new label thing or they just got tired of making just “acceptable” albums, but i can safely say Wilco is back. I knew it right after i got finished listening to “Art Of Almost” for the first time. What’s also nice is that there are plenty of tracks for the fans to savor for a good long while. I really cherish this because i feel like Wilco’s last two records were about immediacy. WIlco is exciting again.
In all honesty, i am not quite sold on this album. My biggest problem with this album has to be the production. It dosen’t fall close to either Album or Broken Dreams Club at all. For me at least, i just don’t seem to find it as exciting. It is on a median between lush and simple that i find somewhat uninteresting. The songwriting is great on here and there are two tracks i absolutely love (“Honey Bunny and “Vomit) but i just wish the rest of the songs contained more character. That is just my opinion anyway…
