Despite never being fussed by Queens of the Stone Age past a few choice songs here and there, …Like Clockwork has been on play-through repeat since I brought it over the weekend.
Almost certainly my top album so far, though The National’s slightly-disappointing return and Frightened Rabbit’s almost-return to form are sat up there too!
‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’
It used to be ‘Abbey Road’, but the flow and conceptual genius on ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ has surpassed it in my mind as of late. The trippy, time-bending (Where else would you find songs based on Victorian fairground posters?) experimental nature of the album is constructed perfectly, plus ‘A Day In The Life’ is a stellar end to a stellar album.
Anything by the Arctic Monkeys!
I hold out no hope of winning; the last thing I won was a Tom and Jerry race-set age 4.
