Sounds interesting. I haven’t slept in 12 hours, I’ll give it a spin/nap.

It took a handful of listens, but Congratulations really clicked with me. It has the hooks they just take a little more patience, and I’m glad they didn’t try to replicate their first album. It’s a really natural album, I think people just didn’t give it much time.

Haven’t heard the rapture before, I think I missed something important.

“When did this bullshit become acceptable to people with decent music tastes?”

This is the final, end all, ultimate expression of what Hipster is. And now we can finally lay it to rest. We’ve looked it right in the eyes, and said “You are dumb”.

Something about this guy, I’ve come to see, is that he has no pretentions of being a real mega talent. He’s a man that has a respect for this singer, and he took time to use the national spotlight to highlight that with an old friend rather than pump up hype for his album.

He said it himself at the end of “Holocene”, give it a listen, you’ll see what I mean.

Give him a real chance, I promise you won’t regret hearing the music he makes.

Absolutely! This have been driving me insane. For god’s sake, his FIRST album was entirely electronic.

Sufjan has always been an incredible producer of his music, his songs have never been remotely “acoustic”, just spare and refined.

This is not a ‘switch’ so much as a reuniting of Sufjan’s disparate styles. And it’s wonderful.
