Agreed. Though I think it could have been trimmed down to a single album that would have been more impactful overall. Seems more like a follow up to Before The Dawn Heals Us than Saturdays=Youth. Wish there was more Midnight City on it.
That Spiderman song is the last nail in the coffin in my relationship with U2. I can’t take any more mediocrity from a once great band.
I haven’t been this disappointed in an album in years. It’s mostly a bore. Aside from three tracks mentioned here, nothing registers and it feels like the same song on repeat without the sonic adventures that make MMJ great.
I’ve heard the whole CD and it’s far superior to the already good soundtrack.
Was it Bono’s back or his voice that needed surgery, cause his voice sounds terrible. These songs don’t bode well.
Was this the same festival that was cancelled last year as it was happening when the crowd got out of hand? The one that Underworld was supposed to headline but didn’t while people inside the venue rioted?
Are there any plans to release these songs on a record / digital download?
These are decent songs but lack the inventiveness of songs like “Power Out,” “Intervention,” “Wake Up,” “Tunnels” and “Rebellion”. They just aren’t as classic as those amazing songs, and aside from the vocals could almost be any band.
If these new Arcade Fire songs were the first we ever heard of them, I don’t think the band would be as big as they are now. (and I usually love Arcade Fire).
Nowhere near as good as Intervention (first single off Neon Bible) or anything off of Funeral really.
Best song from the album yet.
I have to give props to Lemon Jelly: ’64-’95 – one of the best and most underrated albums of the last 10 years, let alone 25.
I kinda hate this song.
Meh.
Sounds like Billy got lost in a hippie commune.
