Been listening to this thing for over a week now (calm down I've got my vinyl preordered) and I can without a doubt say it's my AOTY. I loved it at first and it still got better with every listen. More cohesive than any of their other albums, and Yellow House is one of my favorite records probably ever. Sleeping Ute, Speaking in Rounds, Yet Again, The Hunt (with most heart-breakingly beautiful vocal performance I've heard all year) , Half-Gate, and of course, Sun in Your Eyes are all amazing. Even the songs that weren't my favorites the first couple times around are now up there as well. I love how they went for a bigger sound, but kept the production raw so that those quiet moments shine just as bright as the loud ones. TL;DR: I can't say enough good things about this record

Alright here's mine. Guess I can't blame them for not including cuckoo cuckoo because I also couldn't fit it in my top 10. 10. Leaf House 9. In The Flowers 8. Water Curses 7. My Girls 6. What Would I Want? Sky 5. For Reverend Green 4. Banshee Beat 3. Fireworks 2. The Purple Bottle 1. Winter's Love

no Fireworks, For Reverend Green, Banshee Beat, Cuckoo Cuckoo, What Would I Want? (Sky), or WINTER'S LOVE - the most beautiful song in their entire catalog??

Whoops. Just noticed Amrit has The Men as an honorable mention as well.

Sun Kil Moon and Mount Eerie should both be in the top 25. Honorable mentions don't do either record justice. Others left off completely: Perfume Genius - Put Your Back N 2 It (maybe it lost points for that spelling?) The Men - Open Your Heart Bowerbirds - The Clearing Sigur Rós - Valtari

I heard this yesterday and was really unsure about it. Listened a few more times and it's really grown on me. I love how it doesn't really ever settle down.

Japandroids know exactly what they do so well and stick to it, and that's what I love about them. Perfect album for summer.
