I’d debate calling it a good choice. To me, it seems like a very difficult song to cover well (his was okay, but ultimately forgettable; then again, what I like most about Baths are the beats, and there weren’t many of those here) and even if Tubthumping is also there, that list has a bunch of really good songs as well.

Anyway, the next two covers (“Fell in Love with a Girl” and “Africa”) should be really interesting, and I can’t wait to see the Titus Andronicus video.

On the plus side, this album isn’t overproduced. The instrumentation is fine most of the time (with a few exceptions).

On the negative side, his songwriting is nothing compared to what we’ve come to expect from him. This album is a more mediocre version of his fantastic earlier work.

I also think that the Salem album was terrible, but that’s still sort of an ad hominem attack.

I don’t understand either, but I did prefer his debut to Wild Hunt.

This is a very interesting list.

Titus Andronicus got SHAFTED. So did Janelle Monae, to a lesser extent.

I’d have put Gil Scott-Heron on there (in my list, he’s going to be ranked higher than Kanye, which I find rather amusing) but I’m not surprised he didn’t show up.

holy shit, what bit rate is this?

the compression on this is making it nigh unlistenable to me. unless it’s just really poor production.

So is this title supposed to be a TL/Rx pun, or am I just overly hopeful?

Michael Showalter gets mad props for his Next to Normal love.
Zach Condon does too for Dock Ellis & the LSD.

Actually, I’ll just stop here but I loved a lot of these answers.
