Umm, am I the only one who thinks Grimes is extremely sexy?

Isn’t it handsome?

Oh, man. I’ve been reading this album title as “Angels” this whole time (I swear it’s been reported that way…). I like “Angles” much better.

It’s probably my favorite, too, although I have a lot of love for “Automatic Stop,” “Under Control” and “Take it or Leave it.” YOLO is them doing what they do best. It’s The Strokes in a nutshell. I completely agree with you on First Impressions being unfairly maligned. One of the great misreadings of an album of the last decade. It’s got some really great stuff on it.

Those of you who think this is their best song since 2003 clearly have not heard “You Only Live Once.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztccvaZ9_7k

I wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t said anything, but I can see that.

I find it hilarious that Diplo keeps giving these interviews talking about how shitty the process of making this album was and how untalented MIA is. What is this guy’s end game?

“Drony trance grooves punctuated by atonal yelps, yodels, and the occasional wounded whale noise.”

Hasn’t he ever heard of Animal Collective?

Awesome! Thanks, Gum people!!

Cool, cool. This album has really grown on me.

My feelings about this project can be summed up as follows: Bite me, Johnny!

This video looks like it was directed by Kanye’s blog.

Congrats, guys. This is a great idea. The “artists in dialogue” thing is always interesting, and I love the old artist/young artist angle. Plus, I was a big fan of Decomposed, so yay for video content.

A little constructive criticism: The editing felt rushed and kind of choppy. Let the shots breathe a little bit and maybe smooth out the transitions. Ideally, this sort of feature could support more than five and a half minutes.

Again, good stuff, though. Look forward to the next one.

Did you just link me to Perez?? Ugggh. Bad Stereogum!

808s and Heartbreak was actually recorded in Hawaii as well.

You took it too far with 3oh!3, but not far enough in that you forgot Panda Bear landed at 9 all by his lonesome.

I would cut two AC albums to make room for YYYs and Dirty Projectors in order to have a more accurate representation of the same core group of listeners, but that’s just me.

Oh no, WE FORGOT YEAH YEAH YEAHS!

 0Posted on Dec 9th, 2009 | re: Best Album Of The '00s (123 comments)

This one is breathtaking. Wow. Stereogum readers did this with only 1 vote each?

 0Posted on Dec 9th, 2009 | re: Best Album 2009 (123 comments)

Can’t complain. Probably the best list we’ve seen.

 0Posted on Dec 9th, 2009 | re: SPIN's 40 Best Albums Of 2009 (174 comments)

There is nothing cliche about Bitte Orca.

 0Posted on Dec 8th, 2009 | re: SPIN's 40 Best Albums Of 2009 (174 comments)

I agree with everything you just said 110%. YYYs is good, but not great. It’s probably their 3rd best album. And Phoenix have some fun songs, but there is nothing special or original about that album whatsoever. Ridiculously overhyped.

The new Paramore record is actually really strong. They deserve the nod.

 0Posted on Dec 8th, 2009 | re: SPIN's 40 Best Albums Of 2009 (174 comments)

They were making it so interesting: Ida Maria! Drake! Florence and the Machine! And then the top 5 are uber cliche indie faves :-/

And What The Fuck?! Why is Bitte Orca so low?? BO > 99% of this list.
