I was there. A sublime show, though not one I recommend when tired. The music is so mellow and the seats too comfy, I kept battling the urge to doze off…
One funny note: among the hipsters were a crowd (perhaps a quarter of the audience) of what I assume to be season ticket holders, older folks who had no idea who M83 were. After Anthony played his initial electronic set, and the LA Phil came on stage, one such older gentleman yelled at the top of his lungs, “At last! Now some real music!”
Anyone know where I might be able to find MP3s of this?
Wow. She can’t act and she can’t sing. Thank goodness for her other two great attributes.
What about Blur? I thought they were back in the studio… will they be done by March?
This makes me almost unreasonably happy. Now, if only Oasis would make a formal announcement that they will STOP going into the studio, then my day will be made.
(only half-kidding)
I still have a soft spot for the President’s of The USA cover of this song… but love this one too! How about releasing it as a b-side, VW?
Thanks. Nice one!
I really would love an mp3 of that version of the song… any idea where I can find one?
Wow. This is why “LOL” was invented.
Seriously, someone yousendit this.
And as far as the film is concerned… I’m a cynical bastard, and couldn’t help but be caught up in the magical weekend of the movie. It deserves to find an audience.
The art is pleasant enough. And as someone who only liked the first Killers album, I really LOVE “Human”. It was boring on SNL, but the track is pretty tight. Though I still wonder why “Indie Rock n Roll”, one of the tracks on their first demo was left off their first album. It’s quite brilliant.
any idea where I can find an mp3 of the track? Thanks!
Does anyone have the rest of the show on Mp3? It was unbelievable. I had crappy seats (section Q), but even from there it was sublime. Then we moved 2/3rds of the way down in teh first encore and loved it even more. I even bought a poster, though it wasn’t that great. The things music makes you do!
Seriously though, Radiohead need to get a better merch designer.
re: @ snorkel snorkel You know what for a fact? I haven’t seen the movie, but I do know the director, who is about thirty but has plenty of indie music cred. He also made one great film called “Raising Victor Vargas” that was praised for how geniune it was (though nothing to do with indie music, granted).
I think everyone needs to wait on piling on the hate and snobbery till they actually see the damn film
I saw STP play a gig at a T-Mobile party in LA last Friday, and I gotta say, despite some rough raspiness in his voice, Weiland pretty much rocked it. Brought me right back to 1995. There’ sno doubt he’s a fuckup as far as drugs, but hopefully he’ll keep it together for the sake of his kids, and uhm, “rock.”
Oh, and funny story. He was mingling among the partygoers for awhile before the show, with three massive bodyguards behind him. They didn’t stop any fans from approaching and chatting with Scott (who was very welcoming and nice)… i gather they were just there to stop him from running off or getting into trouble.
I know it’s prolly mildly illegal, but is there a way to save or find mp3 versions of those lily myspace tracks? The new one, along with “guess who, Batman?” are well worth taking with you on your portable mp3-playing device.
Does anybody know who directed the video?
Beautiful, soulful video. Reminded me of Mike Mill’s AIR video for “All I Need.” Anyone know who directed this one?
thanks Steve! You sir are an officer and a gentleman!
Anyone know of an easy way to convert the Rip youtube clip above into an mp3? Even though it’s a raw lofi recording, I would love to have that on my iPod
The song isn’t awful, but hasn’t grown on my yet. The album art is fucking terrible, though then again, I liked X&Y’s art (not the music itself).
I really hope these guys grow in this one.
Seriously, does anyone have a presale code to the hollywood bowl dates?
The song is lovely, and the colors of the video are great, but am I the only one that thinks its kinda boring? And derivative of previous Kylie/Bjork efforts?
does anyone know when his new album is due?

Well, Alex and Graham ARE playing together again, as Blur (finally) have reunited. And it feels so good.
