I enjoyed this very much, both the video and the song.
Guess NY is still the place to be, all well.
Awww, i have always liked these guys, but now i like then even more, they look just like me.
I love Passion Pit, not sure i would want to see them live though, just not that kind of band. And yes he looked awkward with his scurry, squat, scurry, squat but i would give him a break there.
I hope the song sucks.
My choice #1 choice is still the Pains of Being Pure At Heart. I would think they could find room for Passion Pit too.
Think i like Guilty Cocker Spaniels a bit more, but this is a close 2nd. It’s really hard not to love anything these guys make, a few more listens and i bet it will get better.
A great video, this is a rare thing.
By Modest Mouse standards this is kinda week, but by musical standards in general, this is quite nice. Oh and to say they lost is is poor foolishness, saw them live a few months ago and it was the most powerful musical experience i have had.
And yes, Lonesome Crowded West is a masterpiece.
Think the video is decent, but the song is boring.
Ugly casanova reminded me of something very important, Built to Spill could come out with something this year, that is pretty much sure to beat everything else.
Untill then it’s:
Pains of Being Pure At Heart
Passion Pit
the Decemberists?
Grizzly bears?
the Thermals?
The 1st pick is easy, but the rest is so hard, but still quite fun.
2009 was a very important year for me, most important so far. So i think it deserves a better “best album” than this, if this is the bet of 2009 then i am very sad.
My vote is for Pains of Being Pure At Heart
(also give a small shout out to the thermals and Grizzly Bear)
I’m sorry, but did coldplay dude say “Viva La Vida” was their “best song” i think it’s one of their worst. Though i hate to admit it i really like some of their old stuff, but this last album is just really bad.
I used to really like the white strips, Still kinda do, but Jack smells of an overinflated ego more and more.
It’s official, stereogum is awesome now. Thank you so much for this, BTS is pretty much my favorite band ever, and looking forward to this album so much. My 2 favorite songs by them were actually on their latest album so this band could be one of those that gets better over time.
I couldn’t stand this song at first, now i really like it a lot, the video was decent too, exactly what i expected really.
Oh wow, if you did a progress report on the Strokes i would love you forever. And it’s true that nobody gives a damn about muse.
I first hear this song at a very appropriate time for me, and can’t help but adore it now even if it is just a pop jangle, it’s beautiful. As for the video……….i was picturing something a bit more…….outdoors.
They old elgish dudes wrote some amazing shit didn’t they?
Here comes the sun and al that.
Dorks.
My vote is for “Skeleton”.
Yay unemployed people!
I remember watching them do a thermals song a long long time ago, they didn’t like it much haha. That woman is so disturbing.
But this is now, and it is great.

Yeah, i wouldn’t compare Jeff Magnum (Neutral Milk Hotel guy) to These girls in a million years. And most everyone you find on this website uses simple chord structure.
