So it seems we're all in agreement that RHCP are the most important band today.

I'll be devil's advocate. devil's critic? anyway. She obviously puts on a great show, with a lot of skill and planning etc. But I think her 'core' performance skills could be, dare I say, improved? Her live vocals don't bowl me over. I'm just going to go ahead and say she's not a *strong* vocalist. not live anyway. Interesting, yes. All that being said I of course can't wait to see her this summer with everything she does bring to a show.

Funny thing is I honestly can't tell if your being facetious. 'Round here it could go either way.

It's weird to think of college kids just getting into Radiohead, like, where have you been? oh right, you weren't born yet.

Arcade Fire have a hand in the rise of the Ho-Hey-core bands as well.

Even then, it's kind of Tame Impala by default. Not because they're really breaking new ground, making big statements as a band. They're just really good is all.

*sigh*. It did well commercially like you say, but I don't think anyone would say it holds up to their best. It's pivotal, but not a good pivot. But as a fellow apologist, I still think U2 can release another GREAT album.

If it weren't for the 'band' qualifier, I'd say Kendrick is the most *important*.

hmm, the woodkid comparison could go either way for me. I did love Drone Bomb Me, so I guess I'll see..

Yeah, I think Arcade Fire have already lost their 'coolness'. (I loved Reflektor myself, though)

I can say at least that I've found 'Burn the Witch' more listenable and appealing than most songs from KoL. Not to say that was a bad album, and definitely not to imply that it was unlistenable, only to say that this track has me excited. And Radiohead is a band that could just as easily release a song or album that would have me feeling underwhelmed. I'm a fan, but I'm not a die-hard, yet they've got me excited, so that's something.
