Your opinion on this one is about as bad as your spelling of “Summerteeth”
Who Cares?
This makes 2 years in a row where I was all ready to buy tickets to austin but changed my mind when I saw the line up. A few good acts when you get to meat of the lineup, but this is very week up top.
I don’t want to make too big of a deal out of this, but come on. Yes, there is a lot of recycled material in popular music, but the whole game changes when the borrower makes so much money off of the material. Coldplay more money off this one song than Cat Stevens and Joe Satriani made combined for their entire careers. That is why this is a problem for me.
A lot on the line for Mr. Tweedy as he is yet to make post jay bennett album that is better than any album that has jay bennett on it. (Summerteeth, YHF, Being there > Ghost is born, Sky Blue Sky)

Green Day had better sell a lot of this album, because I think this is there last chance. Eyeshadow on a 45 year old is not overly becoming.
This album cover looks like a flyer for a high school drama play. Lame.
Album of the year? Wow, sexy boots = not the best start of the year.
I will say this, “Sexy Boots” isn’t even in the Itunes top 100 songs, this is a problem for U2. This song is obviously no creative or artistic success, so the lack of commercial success has to be a disappointment. Hopefully the second single is better.
When I heard this version of Forever Young, I was kind of into it. When I heard Will I am ‘s “Yo, Yo, Yo” I had to laugh. Not a bad idea for an ad, but a few criticisms:
Cell Phones as Lighters – kind of lame
Shrek? That was like 10 years ago? How about something a little more recent.
Wow. This is terrible. I will say that I have recently had a new respect for his music as the Jay Bennett Wilco is so much better than the Bennettless Wilco. Wow. This is very Sad.
