Amazing indeed. Seriously, screw the Dirty Projectors and their pretentions Afropop ripoffs, especially when you see artists like Merill, weaving beautiful harmonies that sound like her music and not a ripoff of someone else’s.
Matt Friedberger is the new Liam Gallagher. I guess we need a self-entitled pretentious asshole to pop up every ten years.

I always made a point of hating on Beck and now I suffer my deep regret.
I am not a Beck fanboy by any stretch of imagination, I follow his career from quite a distance, but this man is seriously phenomenal. This video is the coolest thing I heard all week, and now I shall peruse the Record Club blog. Thanks Stereogum for picking this up.
Title’s misleading. Click and watch the damn thing, this is basically an interview sponsored by Wal-mart (the no. 1 record seller in the United States) and Axe (who tend to do clever things when it comes to pleasing their crowd ? young guys who want to know what’s cool out there).
