pleasant enough to not be terrible but nothing special
They’ve already been Top 40, kids:
so this naked women carrying dudes/animals/whatever is a theme for him?
nice use of ‘hynie’. and youre not the only one
I’m going to guess that he didn’t want to expose the obvious influence, like it felt cooler to stick with stuff that was less predictable…but i could be very wrong…
No diss to the Boss.
I’m going to guess most, if not all of the gushers on this page have never written a song in their life but all I’m gonna say is making a Gaslight parody song is so effortless and quick to do, it’s sad.
Pitchfork also gave this new Gaslight album a less-than-impressed 5.7…and rightly so because it’s uninspiring, redundant, and safe pop tunes about the same themes they’ve been talking about since the first time they tried to pretend they were from a different era. Boring and derivitive…it’s like Against Me, Bruce Springsteen, and Green Day had a little wuss who ripped off Cure “solos”
The Beach House fan club should be called The Easily Impressed.
