First REM break up and now this? R.I.P. College Rock 1980-2011 ?

I was one of those fans who got into REM by listening to Monster, Automatic For The People and New Adventures In Hi-Fi as a 90s teenager. It wasn’t until later that I discovered their classic back catalogue (IRS years). REM always remained true with each release, Reveal and Collapse Into Now are underrated REM albums. Can’t wait to hear Stipe’s solo LP which I’m sure is inevitable. Happy trails REM… happy trails.

MTV’s golden years were between 1990 and 1999. We were lucky to have witnessed rock n roll’s last dying breath with ‘grunge’. Which actually was right before the internet came along and wiped it all away. MTV should stop calling itself “Music Television”. It’s an insult to all true music fans around the planet.
I don’t know if anyone here has tried this but… listen to this song with the volume up as loud as you can.
I actually enjoyed this. Not as catchy as “dead beat summer” but good enough to ear repeated listens while chillin’ on a sunday afternoon.
…and 20 years later, Live At The Paramount Theatre is finally on dvd.

Dollars & Cents is among my favorite RH songs of all time. And for that and that alone, I will forever cherish this 10-year old album.
