WAV?? Kieran should show some more technological knowledge, and offer FLAC instead: same exact content, but fewer bytes to download.
Wow. You succeed in putting 2 of the worst songs from their first album on their "best of" list: "Mystery Achievement", and "Kid". I think that for the rest it's a very solid album, in particular the entire A-side, and "Private Life" is the highlight of the B-side. In my humble opinion, of course.
160GB = "up to 40000 songs"? Funny that, ever since the beginning of mp3 players, after all these years, they still count in 4 minute 128k files.
Did the DJ only play short snippets of the songs, or did you guys really chat so slowly?
Good song. Very mid-80's feel (Johnny Hates Jazz, Fra Lippo Lippi, The Lover Speaks) yet this song still grows above these comparisons.
I really like her take on "call me maybe", here called "give me scabies". And what the hell is the difference between a "mixtape" and an album (or an EP)? I thought a mixtape flowed. But here, there are 5 separate songs.
Meh. I prefer the original, by far, which, BTW, is a free download: http://stereogum.com/759121/tom-vek-aroused-video/mp3s/
Why not. I prefer them to yet anoth f*in Kaye West or Nas video any day.
I'm not a metal fan, not by far, but I really like that track as played by Mastodon. It makes me quite pissed off that some tracks are only available as vinyl (or as low quality mp3 streams). Like that recent track by Four Tet and burial, "Nova". Why do artists and labels do this?
The only proper response to this is a quote from Beavis and Butthead: "This sucks."
It looks like it works now. Anyway: I know his name from the remix he did of Juliet's "Avalon" in 2004. Definitely still a worthwhile listen. EMI seems to be on a blocking spree, the only link on YouTube that currently still works is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ28PmffXzU (a very recent upload) but I don't know if it will last.
The Field and Gui Boratto, 2 of my top favorite artists of the past decade... I'm impressed. So I'm quite surprised to find Battles' album was released via Warp, and not via Kompakt. Oh, and I've just listened to several minutes from each track, and I really do like them. And finally, "Boratto" is spelled with one "r".
Wow. Unlike what we're used to by Die Antwoord, this clips looks very professionally made. So in that regard, it is different. I quite like it: it works. I also already liked the new track "I Fink U Freeky", which, if you look around, is a free track (for example on RCRDLBL.com: http://rcrdlbl.com/2012/01/18/download_die_antwoord_i_fink_u_freeky)
Nice to see I Break Horses - Hearts in that list. Definitely one of the best tracks of 2011. But I do miss the RAR remix of the same track, or I must have gotten it elsewhere. Equally brilliant yet sufficiently different. Anyway, you can get it from Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/bella-union/i-break-horses-hearts-rar-mix
Of Junior Boys, "Banana Ripple", I only like the The Field remix. The Field is present too, but with "And Then It's White" (which is a free download on the web, if you look around) which is a rather unconvincing track. No, I much prefer "Burned Out", and that is not on this list. What a joke. Gang Gang Dance is there with the non convincing "Glass Jar", but "Mind Killer" is not on the list. And Washed Out is listed with "Amor Fati"? Where is "Eyes Be Closed"? Thank you, I've seen enough.
Yay for Azealia Banks! She's the only one on the picture collage who's actually really worth being there... (though Florence deserves an honorary mention) But I do miss seeing Alex Winston in that list.
