I haven't listened to the whole album yet but so far I like Treats better. I feel like Treats was more chaotic and at the same time more catchy which is how I feel I feel most first good albums are compared to second albums. Maybe my opinon will change though over time.
I think it is kind of lame when musicians show up late to a show, but the audience can always just leave if they don't like it. However, in this case I doubt anyone would want to miss a Kanye West show because of 45 minutes.
No Pumpkins after that great interview lol? I normally hate how people treat Pitchfork like it's the all knowing, but the bands that recorded Pitchfork's top 3 albums of 09 are all releasing records in 2012 (Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, and The XX in case you didn't know). So I am pretty excited about that. Also, Santogold and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs should be releasing new music.
I've said it before and I'll say it again . I love Corgan and his interviews. I think he is really smart and insightful. I saw them in concert two years ago and he killed it with some new songs. Then he went off and came out with some of that Teargarden stuff that wasn't that great. I hope he returns to his routes and Oceania blows everyone away.
Just because Sleigh Bells is coming out with a heavy album next year and a few hardcore bands are on the up and up doesn't mean that hardcore is making a comeback. I'm from Orange County where the "hardcore scene" was huge and it's definitely dead. Sorry man.

I love Sleigh Bells. Do you think their over the top - in your face hardcore sounds is them being ironic or do you think they really dig it? I mean I know Derek was in PTW so he has to be into hardcore but the way they do it seems ironic. Plus I question if the girl is into it. I saw them live and they had super loud heavy metal playing in the speakers before they want on. It was intense but seemed funny and over the top at the same time. You know what I mean?
"However, if they blew up like The Pumpkins did, I think they might be getting the criticism today like Billy does." They didn't blow up, they stopped. If they stayed a band and wrote more than 2 records, there's a good possibility at some point it might get worse. No one can stay gold forever. Except for The Beatles I guess. You're really judging a band off of 2 albums that came out 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong I think they are great though.
